Do not damage. Hard. There are no two ways about it! I feel they would be better if drilled to take the inside of the spring floor plate so you can reject the spring as an OEM. I also thought they would slip out easily, so I drilled and drilled a #10-32 hole on the back and installed an Allen button head on it so that it would prevent it from slipping on the line or during extreme use. great value.
